Girlfriends always find a way of making their personal items theirs. One night, in the lodge lobby where we were staying, my girlfriend wanted to read a book by the fire – but when reaching for her glasses, she remembered she left them in the room. She grabbed mine, hanging from my shirt, and sat down and started reading. After noticing how the masculine shape of the frames accentuated her delicate features, I set out to create a women’s frame with a tomboy sensibility.
